Episode 77: Dr Scott Condie (CSIRO)

The interview guest in this episode is Dr Scott Condie, who is a Senior Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO Environment (based in Hobart) and also an Adjunct Professor with the University of Tasmania. Scott has more than 25 years experience in modelling physical and ecological aspects of marine and coastal ecosystems and with particular expertise in agent-based modelling to support management and scenario exploration. His research has been applied extensively in fields such as coastal management, aquaculture, conservation management and climate adaptation. You will hear Scott talk engagingly of his early years growing up in country NSW and onto high school in Grafton where he was in a physics class of only two students! In relating his most recent research focus, Scott explains his work and that of others, in "modelling people", to address conflict situations that arise in aquaculture and with other projects and developments that have potential for conflict, including offshore windpower.
