Episode 73: Pieter van der Woude (On Board Expeditions)

The interview guest in this episode is Pieter van der Woude of On Board Expeditions (and Cleanlift Marine). Pieter grew up on Tasmania's NW coast and has gone on to have a very marine 'flavoured' life to date. This includes having served with the dive rescue and search & rescue teams in Tasmania Police, followed by 25 years as a commercial abalone diver. He also worked in the surf-shop retail sector, including founding Red Herring Surf Co., and he also dabbled in commercial eel fishing and oyster farming, before expanding his boat charters into Southwest Tasmania, on vessel "Odalisque II" and more recently "Odalisque III". In addition to Pieter talking engagingly about all those things, he also relates his time working as a part-time watercraft operator with the Australian Antarctic Division.
