Episode 72 - Albatross beaks - Evolution through adaption, and more...

In lieu of an interview guest, for this episode Craig reads four recently published articles with marine flavours. The first two articles come from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), University of Tasmania: How albatross beaks have evolved through adaptions to prey types; and, Investigations mapping the distribution, abundance and chemical variation of the methane-reducing seaweed, Asparagopsis armata, in Tasmanian waters. The second two articles are taken from the website of CSIRO: The discovery of the rare, Narrowbody Handfish, during RV Investigator's recent voyage in SE Australia, exploring how climate is affecting marine parks and fisheries; and, Helping to restore coral reefs in The Maldives through larval-based coral restoration methods.
