Episode 64: Paris Tuohy (CPAS/ANU)
Craig's guest in this episode is Paris Tuohy, a marine social scientist with a focus on communications, environmental policy and knowledge translation. Paris is a PhD candidate in the Australian National University’s Centre for Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), Canberra. She is exploring the processes that can foster the equitable and effective co-production of knowledge and exploring the translation of knowledge into action for the improved governance of ocean and coastal spaces. She is currently based at CSIRO Marine Laboratories in Hobart and is hosted as a postgrad student of the Centre for Marine Socioecology. In addition to relating the objectives of her current research, you will hear Paris talk of her experiences while living in Alaska that sowed the seeds of keenness to work in the area of marine social science, and also of her various earlier jobs in science communications.
