Episode 107: Ron Mawbey (former Senior Technical Officer in Zoology, UTas) - Part 1

This episode features Part 1 of Craig's interview with Ron Mawbey, a former Senior Technical Officer in Zoology and Scientific Dive Officer at University of Tasmania (for 32 years), underwater videographer, conservationist and naturalist.  In this Part 1 you will hear Ron relate many interesting and entertaining stories, including about his first employment as a preparator and taxidermist at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, his involvements in surveys of Lake Pedder after its flooding in 1972 and of the unique underwater habitats of Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour in Southwest Tasmania. And his innovation in designing a new style of trap for catching sugargliders, with links to drunken shepherds!  Part 2 of the interview will feature in the next episode of Vibes Under The Sea.
