Episode 106: Salps, salps and more salps...and more...

This last episode of Vibes Under The Sea for 2024 sees Craig reading five recently published articles with marine flavours. The first two articles are sourced from the website of the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), University of Tasmania: Providing insights into what salps are and why they are washing up on Tasmania's in large numbers; and, Two UTas research scientists selected for the 2025 Superstars of STEM program. The third article comes from the website of CSIRO and is a celebration of the 10 years of operations of Australia's Marine National Facility, RV Investigator. The last two articles are on topics widely separated in geographic space: From the website of the Australian Antarctic Program, a story on investigations into the unique marine environment and biodiversity of the Bunger Hills, about 450 kilometres from Casey research station; and, from the website of the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), a feature on the partnership between AIMS scientists, Traditional Owners and Indigenous Rangers in a new project which aims to expand the delivery of coral larval restoration interventions to the Great Barrier Reef.
