Episode 7: Joanna Smart (Marine Solutions)

The guest in this episode is Joanna Smart, who is a marine biologist with Hobart-based environmental consultancy Marine Solutions. Joanna is the 2019 awardee of the Australasian Rolex Scholarship from the Our World Underwater Scholarship Society. You will hear her talk of the many activities that she did during her scholarship year, under the theme "Innovation under the sea". Among her many interesting stories, Joanna describes her time with the underwater vegetable garden project (land vegetables grown underwater!) of the Ocean Reef Group in Noli, Italy.  Joanna is also a world-renowned underwater photographer, having won several prestigious awards, and she talks with passion about that side of her life and career.
