Episode 41: Dr Jonny Stark (AAD) - Part 2
Dr Jonny Stark, a marine ecologist with the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), is Craig's guest in this episode (and with Part 2 to come, in Episode 42). He is a leader in research aimed at aiding the management and conservation of Antarctic coastal ecosystems, including studies of the human impacts on marine communities in Antarctica. You will hear Jonny relate a 'slightly convoluted and fortuitous path' from high school, through undergrad university, to a part-time Masters and then on to the PhD that forged his career in Antarctic science. Have you ever wondered about what it is like to dive beneath the ice on the frozen continent? Well, Jonny vividly describes the process and about some of unplanned "moments" he experienced during such diving activity.
