Episode 32: Dr Peter Grewe (CSIRO)
Craig's interview guest in this episode is Dr Peter Grewe of CSIRO Oceans & Atmosphere. Peter is a Principal Research Scientist based at the CSIRO Marine Labs in Hobart and is a leader of CSIRO’s genetics-based research in fisheries. His specialty areas include the application of genetics in investigating the population dynamics and stock structure of tuna and sharks. You will hear Peter tell of his beginnings in aquatic sciences working on zooplankton in the tundra ponds of Manitoba, Canada, and then later a PhD on rehabilitation of lake trout in the Great Lakes, before taking up his position in Hobart. He talks with passion about the benefits he has experienced working in a multi-disciplinary team at CSIRO in cutting edge science and also about the enjoyment that has come from working with many international partners in tuna fisheries research.
