This episode of Vibes Under The Sea features an interview with Matthew Sherlock,  Senior Research Engineer and the Research Group Leader for Instruments and Electronics, Systems Engineering at CSIRO Marine Laboratories. After beginning his career at Mt Isa Mines, followed by a stint over-wintering in Antarctica, Matt's 34 year career with CSIRO saw him as a specialist designing bespoke subsea systems for the great variety of the organisation's marine scientific research. Among his interesting stories, you will hear Matt talk of his many research voyages on CSIRO vessels, RV SoelaRV Southern Surveyor and RV Investigator, and including his remarkable tale of 'self-surgery' following a mishap on board.
