Episode 25: Jonah Yick (Inland Fisheries Service)

My interview guest in this episode is Jonah Yick,  a scientist and fisheries manager with the Tasmanian Inland Fisheries Service (IFS). Jonah also has a background and expertise in sharks and rays research, and is a passionate sport fisher. You will hear Jonah talk of his career path, starting as keen fisher when he was young, through to his current role as leader of IFS's Carp Management Program, with many interesting steps along the way. Among the things that Jonah relates, as we record the interview on his boat in southern Tasmanian waters, is the success story that has been the carp eradication program in Lakes Crescent and Sorell in Tasmania's Central Highlands. You will also hear Jonah talk about his love of marine sport fishing and his role as a Tuna Champion.
