Episode 19: Peter Marmion (naturalist, conservationist, adventure guide)

My interview guest in this episode is Peter Marmion, a man who wears many hats. He is a naturalist, conservationist, historian, photographer, explorer, sailor and seafarer, and a former teacher and school principal who continues to impart knowledge to others in his roles as a wilderness tour guide and as a trainer in adventure guiding. You will hear Peter talk with great passion about his teaching experiences, and also of his love for Tasmania's marine and terrestrial environments and his involvement in many conservation programs. Those programs include the recovery program for the orange-bellied parrot and various feral fauna and flora eradication programs on Australian islands, including Dirk Hartog Is. in Western Australia, Tasman Is. in SE Tasmania, and George Rocks in NE Tasmania. He also relates a current major goal; to complete his quest to walk the entire coastline of Tasmania.
